The image editor is available without creating an account. Its normal workflow does not require uploading the selected image to an application server.
Product reference
MaskBeforeShare is a free, no-signup browser tool for anonymizing screenshots and photos before sharing. This page documents what the product does, how it handles images and where human review is required.

Images are decoded, edited and exported in the browser during normal use. The application does not need an account or server upload.

An embedded MediaPipe model can suggest face regions locally. Every suggestion remains editable and must be checked by the user.
Users can create multiple boxes, paint irregular masks, erase corrections, move or resize zones, and choose pixelate, blur or blackout.
Method
The browser draws the image and enabled masks onto a canvas, then creates a new PNG. This avoids carrying over the original file's EXIF metadata block.
QR codes, emails, phone numbers, addresses, IDs, plates and secrets require manual review and masking.
Faces may be missed or incorrectly suggested. The user remains responsible for checking the complete image.
Removing original metadata does not hide an address, face or other detail that remains visible in the image itself.
Current capabilities
Automatic detection suggests faces only. Emails, phone numbers, addresses, QR codes, plates, IDs and secrets must be covered manually. Blur and pixelation can leave clues; prefer opaque blackout for sensitive text.
Privacy boundary
The site downloads application code, images, fonts and the face-detection model. The normal editor does not send your selected image to an application server. Optional advertising is separate from image processing and subject to your consent choice.
