## What the product does

MaskBeforeShare helps people anonymize screenshots, CVs, forms, receipts, support tickets, product screenshots and social images before they share them publicly or with another person.

It can suggest masks for faces with an embedded local MediaPipe browser model. QR codes, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, identifiers, access tokens, secrets and similar private details are masked manually. Automatic face detection is helpful and best-effort, not guaranteed.

## Scope and limitations

The production tool edits images, not video or native PDF files. Automatic suggestions are limited to faces and can miss people. Other private details need manual masking. Blur and pixelation may leave information readable or inferable; opaque blackout is preferable for confidential text. The normal image editor does not upload selected images, but the website downloads application assets and its face model. Optional advertising is separate and subject to consent.
